UNILAG hosts Xiaomi Campus Connect

Students undertaking Chinese Studies in the University of Lagos (UNILAG) had the opportunity to understudy Chinese Designing and Manufacturing Company: Xiaomi Corporation, at a Campus Connect event held on Friday, September 20, 2024.

The event which took place at the Arts Block, UNILAG Main Campus, Akoka was part of efforts aimed at exposing students of the Faculty of Arts to opportunities within their field of study.

While appreciating the rank and file of the Faculty of Arts for their unrelenting efforts in broadening the horizon for students across all disciplines in the faculty, the Dean, Professor Mudashir Ilupeju challenged the students to leverage every opportunity brought their way for strategic placement which would help in shaping both their immediate and distant future.

The Xiaomi Campus Connect, according to the Deputy Director, Confucius Institute, UNILAG, Dr. Adetoro Banwo, was initiated to connect Chinese Studies’ students undertaking with brands and opportunities in the Chinese industry.

The event featured presentations by the Head of Marketing, Xiaomi Corporation, Camellia Ran who took the students through the operations, products and career opportunities in Xiaomi Corporation.

Students also smiled home with different products courtesy of Xiaomi Corporation.

With headquarters in Beijing, China, Xiaomi Corporation (registered as Xiaomi Inc.), is a Chinese designer and manufacturer of consumer electronics and related software, home appliances, automobiles and household hardware.
