The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has reiterated the commitment of the University of Lagos to its internationalization agenda. She made the declaration while receiving a contingent from Penn State University, USA on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

“I am glad that you have come”, a visibly delighted Vice-Chancellor affirmed. “As a university, we continuously seek strategic collaborations across the globe, because it is an imperative for us. The world is increasingly getting smaller and we have an internationalization agenda that is not unidirectional. We like to go, but we also want people to come. As a University, we are seeking to improve the pedagogical skills of our staff and students with an eye for the demands of the 21st Century and the real challenges of our immediate environment.”

Leader of the Penn State University delegation, Professor Sylvester Osagie, expressed appreciation for the warm reception they received, first at the Faculty of Education by the duo of the Dean, Prof. Bayo Oladipo and the immediate past Director of Quality Assurance, Professor Grace Otinwa; and later at the Office of the International Relations, Prospects, and Partnerships (IRPP) by its Director, Prof. Ismail Ibrahim.

He commended the quality performance of UNILAG alumni in different professions back at the United States of America and expressed hopes of collaborations between both universities in as many areas as possible.
