Dean of Student Affairs formally Presents Mr & Miss UNILAG to Vice-Chancellor

The Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Musa Obalola has formally presented Mr & Miss UNILAG for the 2023/2024 Academic Session to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OONFAS. They are: Mr. Joseph Onunkwo, 300 Level student of Creative Arts (Mr. UNILAG) and Ms. Jacintha Oguejiofor, 300 Level Student of Mathematics (Miss UNILAG).

He made the presentation on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the office of the Vice-Chancellor in the Senate Building.

The visibly delighted Vice-Chancellor congratulated the students on their emergence as Mr. & Miss UNILAG respectively, and charged them to utilise the honour as a pedestal for making positive impact on the community.

“Your emergence is proof that it takes more than academic prowess to be a student of the University of Lagos. Your willingness to dare, to participate, and to put yourselves our there are qualities you’ll definitely need to thrive in the world. Your generation particularly delights me, because you have shown that you have a mind of your own and are not shy to express yourselves. Congratulations!”

Also present at the presentation was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Professor Ayodele Atsenuwa. She cheered the winners and also shared with them a number of community service ideas which may make their reign known for impactful contribution.

The winning duo of Mr. & Miss UNILAG were accompanied to the presentation by the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Blessing Anyikwa, and other students who participated in the Mr. & Miss UNILAG 2.0 contest earlier in May, 2023.

The Mr. & Miss UNILAG 2.0 contest was organised by the Students’ Affairs Division of the University of Lagos in collaboration with the Station Manager of UNILAG Radio 103.1FM, Mr Michael Dimeji-Lamu.
